pretty table setting from indska

Hello friends! Oh my goodness, I'm making my way back from the blurry abyss of a nasty spring cold...first the boys & then me. It's been a week of late nights, early mornings, hot tea, days home from school, missed work, apple cider vinegar, and lots of movies with us pitiful on the couch. But, I'm happy to say that sun is in the forecast & we're all bouncing back. The boys, of course, rebounded much quicker, I'm always the last :)  But they were sweet and tried to 'take care of mom' - which is entertaining & endearing...but usually not very restful.

In any event, I've missed a whole week of this blog & look forward to catching up! Thank you everyone who shared some of their recent happenings in last week's link up (didn't post? oh, there's still time! leave a comment with your newest product/project/post for us all to see.) In addition to some of my favorites pins from this week (I mean, being under the weather is one of the best times to pin right?), I'm sharing a few of your new projects below...

Hello! {A Link Up!}

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

Hi friends! I missed out sharing my post over at Oh My Handmade Goodness last week... I sort of missed a lot actually, tending to two sick little boys and then catching the cold myself! Anyhow, we're on the mend, and I wanted to make sure to share the post I wrote about Finding Your Marketing Voice on OMHG - if you've got a shop, I sort of broke things down to this basics, that's how my mind works. But I think it's a helpful reminder nonetheless! Pop on over there to check it out and share your thoughts :)

I've also been whipping up some custom orders - my clients come up with the best ideas and requests. Here's a few....

AND... I'd also love to see what you've been up to! Share a link of your newest creation or recent blog post down below in the comments. See you there! xo

The Beauty We Love - Quick Bit of Inspiration!

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Hello! Busy week over here with wedding season in full swing, an under the weather preschooler, and end of the year celebrations to plan.  But I wanted to stop in and share this sweet little bit of inspiration I found at one of my very shops, Wheatfield. Katie is such a talented artist & I'm so happy we were able to meet at local art event a couple years ago.  This print is such a lovely reminder of living with intention.... I know I often get sidetracked and feel like I  miss opportunities, small or large, to do what I love.

On another note, I'll be having a mega giveaway tomorrow, so check back in for that!

Happiness!

Printable Mother's Day Finds

free printable mother's day stationery from the alison show

This mother's day seems a little extra special. Maybe because Little Man Jack has been in full preparation mode for the last month. This boy loves his holidays but he seems to have put in a bit of top secret extra planning for this one. Whispers with dad, confidential card making for the last couple weeks, and  subtle questions about my favorites... desserts, dinner, colors, and such. I heard he even turned down his preschool mother's day craft as he had his own gift in mind :)  I tell ya, his super sweet, 5 year old top secret mission is already the best mother's day gift I could hope for!

Working on a few little surprises of my own for the moms in my life and here are some sweet printables I found to share!

Hello, May - Desktop Calendar

desktop calendar via smashing magazine

Hello, friends!

We've been blessed with incredible sunshine the last couple weeks here in Portland. The flowers are in bloom and for every true Oregonian, any temperature above 50 brings out the sandals and t-shirts (seriously.)

April was an incredible month, my most successful ever in the shop (hooray!) and I also completed my self imposed challenge of no sugar (that would be chocolate), caffeine, or wheat/flour.  Add that to my already vegan, low processed routine and it, at first, seemed like a crazy venture. I mean, coffee & chocolate, used to get me through the days you know?  But, I did it. Lots of cool recipes and a few days of withdrawals later, I made it through the entire month.

I'm feel so much better, lighter, cleaner, more energized! And, maybe even a little more confident not feeling so tied to food/coffee for my little 'treats' I'd reward myself with during the day.  (well, the husband was out of town and it's just been me with two wild boys all day, I *totally* deserve this hunk of chocolate). And the no sugar bit, meant that I avoided all those extra little sugary things that seem to creep in without me noticing.

I'm still rocking the coffee, just decaf. Which always seemed to defeat the purpose, but made the transition so much easier. And this completely changed my level of anxiety and irritability I have been fighting for so long. I feel so much more calm & in control!

Anyhow, enough about that. Sometime I'll have to share my concoction, um, recipe for dairy-free coconut chocolate ice-cream I discovered :)

So here I am, ready for May! Check out the pretty desktop calendar above I found at Smashing Magazine, it's a beauty.
