Monday, September 29, 2008

Hello, we've got a winner over here! Congratulations to Vanessa from DesignsbyVanessa for winning this month's giveaway!

How was the winner chosen you might ask? Randomly, of course. And I couldn't think of anything more random than letting baby Jack draw the winning name.....

A big thank you to all those who entered!

Business Card Holder Giveaway

Sunday, September 21, 2008

So...after listening to one of my favorite George Strait songs, "Give It Away," I decided to do just that...give something away!

It didn't take me long to decide on this oh-so-cute, perfect for fall mini wallet- it's exactly what I would want! This little beauty features the Ginger Blossom print by Sandi Henderson for Michael Miller. With shades of raspberry, avocado, and chocolate, it's a great treat for autumn. It's lined with dark brown fabric & closes with a pearl snap. Measuring 3" x 5" it's just the holder for business cards, credit cards, cash & driver's license, or with the holidays coming up- giving away with a gift card tucked inside. Retails for $8 in my Etsy shop.

HOW TO ENTER:
  • Visit my Etsy shop
  • Find one item you like
  • Think of 5 words to describe that item
  • Post your response in the comments section below
  • Example: Tote in Raspberry Kiwi- bright, bold, classic, chic, stylish
  • Be sure to include your contact information (blog, email, etc.) Contest limited to US residents only.
  • Be creative! Get those thinking caps on & choose your very own words, not the ones I already used...
Winner will be chosen randomly at the end of the day on Sunday, September 28th.

Now, off you go!

Chill of an Early Fall

Friday, September 19, 2008

Hot chocolate, falling leaves, pumpkin patches, chilly mornings, and.....quiltish handbags.
I've really enjoyed working with the rich, bright, and earthy colors to make some of my best bags ever. It's nice to see the browns & oranges as faithful standbys but also the deep purples, berries, and greens.

Here are some of my latest editions for fall, featuring different fabric designers: Michael Miller, Anna Maria Horner, & Alexander Henry.

Bridal Party Handbags

Can I help but to feel a twang of jealousy?

I've just completed a custom order for a bridal party and I think letting go of these bags might be a tad difficult. I kind of fell in love with them a long the way. That can happen from time to time.... I can get a little attached to some of my creations. Like the patchwork autumn clutch that was scooped up before I could change my mind. Or the plush blue & brown dot toddler blanket that I consider- daily- storing away for Jack. I suppose I could always make another, but something happens when you come upon a particular design & see it for the very first time.

Seriously though, I am excited to ship them off to the lovely bride in Massachusetts whose bridesmaids will undoubtedly appreciate how much time she spent customizing gifts for them.
